As the first ever black female Detective Inspector in the history of Merseyside Police, Irene is a force for change. Setting herself as a pioneer & role model Irene has coached & mentored minority group employees throughout her 30 year career in the public sector, focusing on resilience & mindset whilst developing tools to enable success.

Designing, developing & delivering leadership programmes instrumental in increasing the recruitment & retention of BME, females & other minority groups to the force. She worked as a consultant for the College of Policing, supporting 21 forces nationally with the recruitment, retention & progression of minority groups.

Utilising her wealth of experience, Irene is now proud Founder & Owner of Ametrine Coaching & Consultancy supporting clients across all industry sectors within the public, private & third sectors.
